First Visit

Your initial appointment will begin with a consultation with our doctor. Don’t be surprised if they take a few moments to get to know you before talking about dentistry. They understand that there are important dental issues to discuss, but it is equally important for them to get to know our patients first. Dr. Yu will ask questions to understand what you are looking for from your dentist, and will also take the opportunity to tell you a bit about our practice. You will then receive a complete dental examination. The doctors will utilize intra-oral cameras to take pictures of your teeth and will also decide if dental x-rays will be needed.

Please assist us by providing the following information at the time of your consultation:

  • Any dental x-rays from your previous dentist, if less than 1 year old
  • A list of medications you are presently taking.
  • If you have dental insurance, bring the necessary information. This will save time and allow us to help you process any claims.

IMPORTANT: A parent or guardian must accompany all patients under 18 at the consultation visit.

Please alert the office if you have a medical condition that may be of concern prior to dental treatment(i.e. diabetes, high blood pressure, artificial heart valves and joints, rheumatic fever, etc.) or if you are on any medication (i.e. heart medications, aspirin, anticoagulant therapy, etc.) or require medication prior to dental cleanings (i.e antibiotics, for pre-med.)

X-Rays

If your previous dentist has taken recent x-rays (within the past year) you may request that they forward them to our office. If there is not enough time, please pick them up and bring them to our office. If additional films are necessary, they can be taken at our office.
